Where you start doesn’t matter.

It doesn’t matter if you walk in and can’t hold your weight hanging from a bar.
It doesn’t matter if you have never done a push up before, or can’t time single unders, or lift a kettlebell from the floor.
It doesn’t matter if you walk in the doors with pull ups securely under your belt or a 7 min mile.
It doesn’t matter if you show up Games ready, with a 3 min Fran.
It doesn’t matter because there is always a next step, a new progression, a harder skill.
There is always a heavier lift or a faster time you can achieve.
There is always one less modification you can do – or a modification that will make the typical seem extraordinary.
Who you beat doesn’t matter.
It doesn’t matter if you come in a few reps ahead of the girl next to you or modify less than the guy down the line. They are working for themselves – towards their goals.
Where you finish doesn’t matter either.
Because you can always go further, you can always chase a new dream, you can always grow.
There is no finish.
What matters is your journey, your attitude along the way.
What matters is your willingness to modify the workout for you, so you can attain the growth that you seek.
What matters is that you show up, that you participate, that you join the community.
What matters is that you have fun and enjoy yourself.
What matters is that you follow your heart and your dreams.
Everything else will follow – the checked off goals, the superior performance, the heavier lifts, the faster times.
It will all follow.
Focus on what matters and let everything else fall to the wayside.
“Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it.” -Greg Anderson
